Series 2520FDA transfer hose by Unisource Manufacturing, Inc. is manufactured specifically for the demanding requirements of CO2 liquid and vapor transfer. Series 2520FDA outperforms other types of hose that have traditionally been used in connection to tanks and trailers. Unlike rubber hydraulic hose that is constructed with carbon steel reinforcing, Series 2520FDA is reinforced with stainless steel braids to resist carbonic acid—the result of CO2 and moisture combination. In addition, our pricked cover solves the problem of bubbling that the covers of hydraulic hoses have experienced. Series 2520FDA hose will be dramatically more flexible in CO2 transfer than standard rubber hoses due to a specially blended tube rated to minus 65°F. The two-braid construction also offers much better kink resistance than comparable single braid products.
Series 2520FDA transfer hose is also superior to flexible metal hoses in liquid CO2 transfer. Stainless steel hose is heavier and more difficult to flex than our rubber/wire combination. In addition, the corrugations inside stainless steel hose can trap frozen CO2, leading to plugging of the hose and/or surrounding equipment during product transfer. Ice slugs could also be a potential safety hazard during hose clean-out of the stainless steel type hose. “Blue Arctic” eliminates this possibility by use of a smooth rubber tube design.
Series 2520FDA hose is factory assembled in custom lengths of up to 100 feet. Special heavy-duty brass bar-stock female NPT end fittings are attached by use of high-pressure aluminum crimp collars that interlock with the brass fittings. Assemblies are rated for 450 PSIG maximum working pressure and each one is pressure tested to 675 PSIG. Hose is black in color with a yellow and red Myar longitudinal stripe. Branding includes manufacturer, working pressure rating, service, and date of manufacture. Fittings are stamped with date codes.
